Derek Wolfson is a Ph.D. Student at the UC Berkeley Agricultural and Resource Economics department. Prior to joining UC Berkeley, Derek worked at Innovations for Poverty Action as a Research Analyst for Professor Mushfiq Mobarak in the Yale School of Management. His research interests include the economics of transportation and the impacts of ride-sharing on city infrastructure. He is further interested in quantifying the impacts of deep-electrification and automation in the heavy-duty vehicle sector. He is also interested in research on the regulatory frameworks surrounding net generation and the barriers to grid expansion in developing countries. Broadly, he works in the fields of industrial organization, environmental, energy, development and behavioral economics. He graduated in 2013 with degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the Robert D. Clark Honors College at University of Oregon.
